PET film, also known as high-temperature resistant polyester film, has excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, oil resistance and chemical resistance. According to its function, it can be divided into PET high-gloss film, chemical coating film, PET antistatic film, PET heat sealing film, PET heat shrink film, aluminized PET film, etc. It has excellent physical properties, chemical properties and dimensional stability, transparency and recyclability, and can be widely used in magnetic recording, photosensitive materials, electronics, electrical insulation, industrial films, packaging decoration and other fields. It can produce mobile phone LCD protective film, LCD TV protective film, mobile phone buttons, etc.

Common PET film applications include: optoelectronic industry, electronics industry, wire and cable industry, hardware industry, printing industry, plastic industry, etc. In terms of economic benefits, such as good transparency, low haze and high gloss. It is mainly used for high-end vacuum aluminum-plated products. After aluminum plating, it is mirror-like and has good packaging decoration effect; it can also be used for laser anti-counterfeiting base film, etc. The market capacity of high-gloss BOPET film is large, the added value is high, and the economic benefits are obvious.
The lasers currently used in PET film cutting are mainly nanosecond solid-state ultraviolet lasers with a wavelength of generally 355nm. Compared with 1064nm infrared and 532nm green light, 355nm ultraviolet has higher single photon energy, higher material absorption rate, smaller heat impact, and can achieve higher processing accuracy. The cutting edge is smoother and neater, and there are no burrs or edges after magnification.
The advantages of laser cutting are mainly manifested in:
